» Our Approach

Our Approach

We live in a world that has come to believe in the power of technology to improve business processes and efficiency. However, it is all too easy to overlook the need for people to embrace and effectively use this technology. So while we can help you get the most from your technology investment –ultimately success is determined by the people who use it. It is this recognition that drives our approach to any project.

You can engage with any number of consultants who will be more than happy to do what you ask. But is that what you really need? Our approach to any project requires our engineers and consultants to think about the problem at hand and share our thoughts on what we see as the optimal solution. We recognize that there must be a committed partnership – your business domain expertise combined with our technical expertise. This is an approach that leads to a successful outcome for us both.

The Knowlysis approach encompasses the following principles:

  • Human and business process dynamics must drive any technology solution. It is important to understand the issues, motivations, and expectations of all stakeholders.
  • Impartial and well-researched advice on the selection of technology must take into account both existing tools and new technologies.
  • Strategic planning with an eye towards long-term objectives is more cost effective than multiple short-term fixes.
  • Establish targets for metrics that provide clearly defined goals and scope for the project, allowing for more concrete design, planning and implementation.
  • Leverage standards to lengthen the life span of the solution.
  • Creating lasting client relationships that facilitate maximum mutual benefit over time that are in everyone’s best interest.
  • Learn from each engagement

It comes down to these elements, in this order: People – Problem – Technology

We look forward to demonstrating how our approach can lead to our mutual success, as it has for the companies we have worked with.

» Expertise

Expertise

At Knowlysis, our expertise is founded on a common need within all organizations to implement technology to better serve the information needs of customers, partners, and staff.

The technology deployed to meet this need is broadly described using the following categorical descriptions:

  • Knowledge Management
Making the collective knowledge of the organization available to each individual
  • Content Management (including Web and Document management)
Bringing processes and structure to unstructured document stores
  • IT Service Management
Bringing greater efficiency to the IT area serving the organization
  • eCommerce Systems
Effectively presenting customers with their buying preferences

We have particular expertise in a set of carefully selected software products that offer solutions in these areas.

In some cases, a pre-packaged software product solution doesn’t quite hit the mark or unnecessarily increases costs and complexity. In this case, Knowlysis expertise extends into the design and development of custom applications to meet the identified business and technical requirements.

Sprint
The business problem facing Sprint was to integrate the newly acquired Nextel business into the current Sprint B2B Marketing web presence. They had existing search capability that was not flexible or robust, and lacked the content indexing features they needed. Sprint selected Knowlysis to assess a number of out-of-the-box web search technologies that might meet their specific needs.

After an analysis and design phase wherein features and benchmark performance metrics were determined, Sprint decided to leverage their existing Verity software licenses to accomplish the business objective. This meant a system-wide upgrade to the latest Verity software and the development of a significant number of enhancements to the out-of-the-box capabilities.

Knowlysis created a number of content workflows for improved indexing of external information sources. In addition, customization of interface components delivered user profile specific hits based upon interests, previous searches, and hierarchical categories. User interaction and user specific login information drove an improved customer experience. Knowlysis engineers created features from the ground up by based upon feature specifications driven by Sprint.

The AllRegs Information Service is widely used by all disciplines within the mortgage and banking industries as well as many industry partners. Virtually every one of the top 100 lenders uses the AllRegs service, with upwards of 50,000 registered users.
